Staircase and more Pics

So you all like my new pic up there? Thank ya all for your more than kind comments (namely, Candace, Blue, Dana, Pam & deslayerette). I have a few more new pics of me from the trip and other places that could work in that space. So Im getting White to write me a neat little small script thatll randomly cycle which pic goes in that block. Neat trick eh? I think so Thats what I had originally imagined when I designed the page kinda of a interchangeable design goes right along with the lego theme right?

Oh.. I have a new project. You guys have seen / heard me rant through my Box and Deck. Well, get read for a new one. Whilst out visiting relatives in New Mexico, Silver volunteered me to build a nice kids size chair to go along with a antique roll top desk. So its chair making time kiddies! I have an idea its certainly more modern but nice. Anyways its off to the library tonight to see what books they might have.

In other news, Purple is coming down tomorrow night. Yeah and were going to have a long needed talk. Actually its just so I can finally actually have this conversation out loud instead of going over and over it in my head in place of sleeping. For the longest time I have known there was a significant disparity between my feelings for her and hers for me but recently I feel like my feelings are not just being not reciprocated, theyre not being respected or even acknowledged by her and Im getting hurt Now the true fault lies with me and my feelings for her. Up to now, I have been attempting a strategy of my problem = my pain. But I was informed recently that apparently no man is an island. Now this is a new concept for me but I think it holds water. Thus for the sake of all parties directly and indirectly affected Im going to attempt to do something about it all. My plan right now is a talk followed by some emotion engineering. Some how I need to scale back my feelings Not just flop from love to hate thats easy but equally wrong. I need to pull the lever downTis not an easy nor fun task ahead of me but its quite needed, for the ones I love (even the ones I love too much) its need.

Todays Lesson = Lorettos Staircase

(Taken from its website)

Two mysteries surround the spiral staircase in the Loretto Chapel; the identity of its builder and the physics of the staircase construction.

When the Loretto Chapel was completed, there was no way to access the choir loft, 22 feet above. Carpenters were called in to address the problem but they all concluded access to the loft would have to be via ladder as a staircase would interfere with the interior space of the small Chapel.

To find a solution to the problem, the Sisters of the Chapel made a novena to St. Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters. Legend says on the ninth and final day of prayer, a man showed up at the Chapel with a donkey and a toolbox looking for work. Months later the elegant circular staircase was completed and the carpenter disappeared without pay or thanks. After searching for the man (an ad even ran in the local newspaper) and finding no trace of him, some concluded that he was St. Joseph himself.

The stairway's carpenter, whoever he was, built a magnificent structure. The design was innovative for the time and some of the design considerations still perplex experts today.

The staircase has two 360 degree turns and has no visible means of support. Also, it is said that the staircase was built without nails -- only wooden pegs. Questions also surround the number of stair risers compared to the height of the choir loft and about the types of wood and other materials used in the stairway's construction.

Over the years many have flocked to the Loretto Chapel to see the Miraculous Staircase. The staircase has been the subject of many articles, TV specials, and movies including "Unsolved Mysteries" and the Kraft movie called "The Staircase".
