Xmas 2002 This year the spirit of Christmas had to work me like a comedian works a tough crowd. It pulled out all the stops. Fire in the fireplace, three stockings hung with my name on them, a parade of loving family members and finally as a fail-safe / ace up the sleeve� waking up to more than 8 inches of Christmas day snow. It did get to me. I had a good time. It was Christmas and I felt it. The process consisted of driving 2000+ miles, buying-wrapping-giving-getting-unwrapping-packing gifts, taking 141 pictures of family I don�t see nearly enough, discussing how tempting it would to be sell everything and move out to Indiana, visiting the hollowed ground of my mom�s grave, learning my cousin is an avid Frisbee golfer, showing off my mp3/jpg/divx player toy, downloading god, shoveling snow off paths, roasting peanuts, hanging xmas stockings over my grandparents mantel, reading my Papa�s collection of 1930�s Popular Mechanics, updating my amazon Wish list, innumerable mental-mindf@cks, the watching what I say around young family members as to not ruin their belief in Santa, and wishing there really was a Santa who could deliver the world all of it�s needs and make everyone happy as a child on Christmas morning. Today�s Lessons -It is possible to get a �warning� while out of state and going 80+ in a 65, who would have thought it? -It�s one thing when Santa leaves a lump of coal in your stocking, but when he puts burning piece of fiery coal into your stocking cause it to catch fire and burn your whole house down�.
